I am the ultimate team player and I would make a great addition to your crew. I grew up sailing in Boston and most recently crewed on a farr 44 in Los Angeles the past 4 years. I am looking to join a team for beer can races and the Mac. I am 31 years old and in good physical shape.

Experience: I started sailing on a Sunfish on Lake Geneva back in the mid-late 1960s. I have been sailing big boats (25’ – 42’) since 1985. I enjoy a combination of racing and cruising and currently sail my Wauquiez Pretorien out of North Point Marina. I am also an experienced mechanic and can maintain or repair any on-board system. My nature is to be safety conscious and I stay alert for any risk to the vessel or crew. I most enjoy the challenge of distance races, testing endurance and getting the best performance out of the boat. I have all my own gear and can handle the boat and work any position. I look forward to another exciting Chi-Mac with a great crew in 2012. Positions Worked: Helm, Foredeck, Mast, Pit, Jib Trimmer, Main Trimmer Events: • Chicago-Mackinac • SSYC Queen's Cup • Chicago-Waukegan-Chicago • Chicago-St. Joseph • Chicago-Michigan City • Several Wednesday night beer can races. Additional Training: • US Sailing Safety at Sea, Jan 2012 • North U – Racing Sail Trim, Mar 2012 • Certified PADI Open Water Diver • First Aid and CPR (card not current) • Red Cross Senior Lifesaving (card not current)

I am a UChicago grad student without my own boat but have sailed for few years (including sailing club at UChicago) and am looking to crew this historic race. I am only intermediate in skill, but I am in great shape and have plenty of energy to do any task required! Please consider allowing me to crew on your boat -- it has always been a dream of mine.

Have done a lot of racing over many years in the Great Lakes, the Atlantic, and the Chesapeake Bay. Owned many boats, including a Beneteau now, but not ready to enter in the race. Did the Mac last year and would like to do it again this year. Cannot commit to a full season of racing, but would commit to appropriate practices leading up to the Mac.
