5 Ways to Watch & Follow the Race to Mackinac
Parade of Boats
Join fans and families at the end of Navy Pier for the parade of boats on Saturday, July 19 as the entire racing fleet checks in with race organizers and salutes the crowd.
Skyline Sprint
To commemorate Chicago Yacht Club’s 150th Anniversary, this year the Race to Mackinac course has been changed slightly to include a new leg, the “Skyline Sprint.” After starting, the fleet will race along the north Chicago lakeshore towards a mark just off Montrose Harbor, the “Lakeshore Legacy Mark,” in honor of the Chicago Yacht Club and its enduring legacy as a cornerstone of the city’s lakefront. The Skyline Sprint will offer fans and the public unprecedented viewing opportunities as the fleet races close to shore. We recommend viewing from Montrose Beach and Chicago Yacht Club’s Belmont Station.
