Expanded logistics footprint supports near-record entry numbers and lays foundation for future fleet growth
CHICAGO, February 13, 2025 – The Chicago Yacht Club Race to Mackinac presented by Wintrust announced today that Larsen Marine has been named official logistics partner of the 116th Race set to start July 18 & 19, 2025.
The addition of Larsen Marine – one of the largest full-service, deep-water marinas on the western shore of Lake Michigan – significantly expands the Race’s logistics offerings in support of the 320 current entries, the largest race in recent memory.
“We welcome Larsen Marine as official logistics partner,” said Race Chairman Winn Soldani. “We are currently only five boats away from maxing out our entry quota and their capabilities as one of Lake Michigan’s premier full-service marinas made them the clear choice to support such a large fleet.”
In celebration of Chicago Yacht Club’s 150th Anniversary this year, Larsen Marine is offering discounted services, parts, and supplies to all race participants including vessel offloading, keel installation, rigging services, bottom washes and more. Larsen Marine will also help competitors arrange transportation of their boat to Chicago should it be required.

The upcoming special edition of the Race to Mackinac will include special events and incentives – from a Mackinac Island fireworks display to the running of the rare “Ultra Mac” and more – to commemorate the founding of the Chicago Yacht Club in 1875.
All interested entries are encouraged to register before the upcoming March 1st early-bird entry fee discount deadline. In honor of CYC’s 150th Anniversary, qualified new entries may also receive $150 off their entry fee to help offset the startup costs to get their boat “race ready.”
