Race Update | June 2021

Please read on for some updates on race and travel logistics for the 112th Chicago Yacht Club Race to Mackinac® presented by Wintrust.

Docking Assignments: Post-race docking assignments have been posted on the CYCRTM Website on the Official Notice Board. Upon completing the race and after receiving instructions from inspections, docking personnel will be confirming your docking assignment.

Hyatt Regency Hotel Roomblock in Chicago:  We have secured a room block at the Hyatt Regency Hotel for racers and fans. Please mention the race when you make your reservation to receive discounted rates.

Bus Back Tickets are now available: Tickets for the return bus from Mackinac after the race are now available for purchase. The Chicago Yacht Club has partnered with Windy City Transportation to transport weary sailors from Mackinaw City to Chicago after the race and festivities. The motor coaches are comfortable, air conditioned and stocked with a supply of refreshments for your trip back to Chicago. All coaches will return to the Chicago Yacht Club's Monroe Station only. There are no coaches returning to Belmont Station. There will be one shuttle going to Belmont. The buses will make no personal stops other than one scheduled stop for lunch and a restroom break.

On Wednesday, July 21, four buses will depart from the Star Line dock in Mackinaw City at 10 a.m. with a later bus departing from the same locale at 2 p.m.

The Chicago Yacht Club Front Desk will note your requested bus time and reconfirm with you the bus you have reserved before the race. Bus tickets are not transferable, and you will be assigned a seat on a specific bus. If booked for the early bus, you will not be able to change and opt to take the later one, or vice versa. There are no refunds, so if your plans change, please find a replacement, and let us know as soon as possible.

Official CYCRTM Race Gear: Don’t forget to visit the TeamOne Newport Official CYCRTM Race Gear Site to place your crew apparel order.

Starline discounted tickets:  Starline will be offering discounted tickets $11 one-way or $21 round-trip. Tickets are available for purchase on their website.

Events: We are happy to report that pre-race and on island events will be returning this year as both Illinois and Michigan guidelines have relaxed their requirements. We will have more information available in the coming weeks.

If you have any questions, please reach out to our regatta manager. We are looking forward to a fast and fun 112th.
